Jacqui Young

Miss Young is the artistic director of Push Factor Dance Company and DanzJam Conventions and Competitions. Miss Young has enjoyed an extensive career as a professional dancer, concert producer, stage director, artistic director, choreographer, studio owner and educator. Miss Young is known for her innovative style in creating dance programs for studios, colleges and summer festivals that teach, entertain, and establish life long bonds among the participants. She is also in demand for judging competitions, teaching master classes at Universities and dance studios and setting choreography for the University and dance studio companies. Jacqui is also a management consultant to studio owners and operators.

Jacqui began dancing at the age of five, choreographed her first professional show at age sixteen, and landed her first professional dancing job at age eighteen. Professional credits include: The Van Burch and Wellford Show, (Illusionist and Comedy Show) (Branson, MO) choreographer, dancer, and magic assistant and dance captain. Awarded best new show, best dancers, and best choreography; still holds record of highest grossing show in Branson. Choreographer, on TNN National Television, The Crook and Chase Show; Melinda: First Lady of Magic, Dancer and magic assistant, (Las Vegas, NV); Sh-Boom National Tour; Laughlin, NV; Elko, NV; Las Vegas, NV; Performed in resident shows at: Lady Luck Hotel, The Desert Inn, Colorado Belle & the Red Lion Hotel and Casino; The Rainbow Tribe, Dancer, Hip Hop Dance Company (Boston, MA); West End Dance Company, Dancer, Jazz Dance Company (Boston, MA); Director and Choreographer for the North American Premiere of Uncle Ebenezer, A Christmas Carol; Director and choreographer for World Premiere workshop of a new music-theatre-dance production titled Jennie May; Choreographer for professional productions of: Annie, Die Fledermaus, Grease, Hello Dolly, Man of La Mancha, Music Man, Oklahoma, Sound of Music, The King & I, The Wiz, Tree Story, Two for the Seesaw, and West Side Story.

Jacqui has a very unique dance style, which come from her diverse background of teachers and styles, Gus Giordano, Lester Horton, Jose Limon, and Ina Han among others. Miss Young established her professional company PUSH FACTOR in 1999. The company has performed extensively through the New England Region and in March 2002, PUSH FACTOR had its New York Premiere. Miss Young's vision for the complete dance experience for her students goes far beyond a listing of class offerings. Understanding and embracing total commitment, ongoing training in technique and creating professional performance experiences for her students, is her vision. She has also taught numerous enrichment programs for children through out the New England and greater New York area. She holds degrees in Dance and Broadcast Journalism, is an associate member of the Society of Stage Directors and Choreographers and is a resident faculty member at Northern Essex Community College. Miss Young also is on the faculty at Murray Street Dance Studio in Tribeca (Downtown Manhattan) and the Astoria Dance Center is Astoria, NY.

Brian Devon Perry

A consummate performer, Brian has been featured across the US in diverse productions such as Van Burch & Wellford in Branson, The Grand Old Opry and MTV. In Television, you can see him in Sex and The City and commercials for Marshall's, Nynex and MTV. He has worked as Choreographer and Dancer in companies like Anna Myer & Dancers, Impulse Dance Company, Boston Dance Company and Stillpoint Dance Company. This year he has produced and released his new Techno solo album, Club Trash, on www.devonperry.com. A passionate teacher, he has taught at the master level in studios from Boston to New York and he looks forward to helping a new generation of DanzJam dancers!

Amy Marshall

Amy Marshall was born in Kyoto, Japan, and raised in Sandwich, New Hampshire. She began her formal training in ballet and theater dance with Paula Vinzi, in whose company she performed as a young professional. She holds a BFA in both Dance and Theatre from Goucher College in Baltimore, MD. In New York city, she has performed with such esteemed companies as Taylor 2, Parsons Dance Company, David Storey Danceworks, Cortez and Co. and Chen and Dancers. While in these companies, she taught master classes and residencies throughout the United States and in Europe and Asia. In 2000, Ms. Marshall taught dance at a public school in the Bronx where she helped to develop a new program installing arts into the public school curriculum. That same year, she formed the Amy Marshall Dance Company. With a repertory already of twelve works, she continues to create two new works each year. Ms. Marshall and her Company have also taught and set repertory on Colleges around the country. In the fall of 2002, Goucher College and Winthrop University performed two of Ms. Marshall's works from the repertory of AMDC and in the Spring of 2003 Stockton University and Webster University will do likewise. Ms. Marshall recently premiered a new work in the fall of 2002, Sentido de Mujer, at a gala honoring William Ivey Long, esteemed Broadway costume designer. The work was commissioned by Winthrop University and premiered at Johnson Hall. In process is the creation of the Golden Dreydl, a takeoff of Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker, rearranged by Klezmer group, Shirim. This project is in conjunction with Carver Center for Arts and Technology and Baltimore County Schools and is being made possible in part from the support of the Puffin Foundation.

Chad Levy

Chad Levy, a native of Charlotte, North Carolina, received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from North Carolina School of the Arts. Mr. Levy joined Taylor 2 in 1998 and toured extensively with the company throughout the United States, and has also been a guest artist and guest teacher with the Charlotte City Ballet. Mr. Levy is a founding member of the Amy Marshall Dance Company and serves as the Executive Director developing new ways in which to bring the company to communities throughout the world.

Dana Fisch

Dana is a graduate of Oklahoma City University and holds a Bachelor of Science in Dance Management. She has studied ballet, tap, jazz and musical theatre for over twenty years and has worked as a stage manager and administrator for various companies throughout New York. Her regional credits include City Arts Center/Oklahoma Children's Theatre, Oklahoma Community Dance Alliance and Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival. Additionally, she has done production work for Troika Productions, Dance Anonymous and Hudson Vagabond Puppets and has worked as an administrator for Battery Dance Company and Chamber Dance Project. Dana has a continuing relationship with Asia Society, Kaleidoscope Theatre Company, sits on the Board of The Arts Trust in New Jersey and is the resident tap teacher for DanzJam Conventions



Walter Jalbert

Singer, Actor, Director, Producer and Businessman, Walter has worn many successful hats in his career. As an Owner/Manager with an eastern bus company C&J Trailways, he has had extensive experience in general management, technology and marketing. With his degree work in musical theatre and dance, Walter has continually pursued theatre along with business, and has worked extensively in New England and New York. Along with leading roles in theatre and opera, he has produced and directed several shows, most recently his own production of of "Caruso", a one man show celebrating one of history's greatest tenors. He wrote, produced, and performed this in New York City. As an operatic tenor with years of training, he has helped many performers improve vocally. With strong roots in business and theatre, he looks forward to helping DanzJam students and studio owners everywhere.
